Product Details

Pianthology is a collection of seven contemporary piano works by living composers, many of which were commissioned by the University of York Music Press,  performed by Nicky Losseff. They are aimed at university and conservatoire level piano students, and also serve as an excellent introduction to new music for the piano for any dedicated player looking to broaden their range.

It includes Sadie Harrison's Impresa Amorosa, which takes its name from the 15th-century practice in which jousting knights and their ladies exchanged love tokens; David Lumsdaine's Six Postcard Pieces, inspired by a collection of postcards the composer had written to his friend and fellow composer Anthony Gilbert in which Lumsdaine expresses each smudge, illegible word and subject matter with musical motives and 'missing' beats and notes; Thomas Simaku's homage to Debussy, and Anthony Gilbert's sequence of miniatures depicting butterflies.

The Pianthology sheet music can be purchased from for just £12.
